Cathy is MD of Dialogue Language Services International, which provides language and cultural training as well as translations to clients across the UK, Europe, US, Asia and South Africa. Having graduated from University of Bath in Russian and German she then went on to qualify as a translator through the ITI and as a language trainer.

Taking deep dive into the language industry in 2000 Cathy has never looked back. After running her own translation company for several years she joined Dialogue’s training business in 2006 and helped to build its translation arm to where it is today.

Throughout her career Cathy has built expertise in international business development and helping clients use language and cultural intelligence strategically to succeed in new markets. As an Export Champion for the DBT, she is passionate about helping UK companies identify and break into new global markets.

Cathy’s first word was ‘simit’ – the delicious Turkish sesame bread. Her passion for languages (and food!) originated from growing up initially in Turkey and has driven Cathy to live and work in five countries, while currently being settled in the UK.

Outside work, fighting to help give asylum seekers and refugees in the UK stability and a place they can be themselves is a personal crusade. Cathy has set up and runs English language classes locally focused on practical language application and getting refugees into the workplace. She also loves anything that can get her into the air – be it planes, parachutes or gliders – or, on a breezy day – simply blue sky thinking!
