ATC ISO News UK Survey: Implementation of ISO standards for interpreting A new study investigates…
The ATC has struck a new collaboration partnership with The Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI), which supports the HealthTech community to provide products and services that help people live healthier lives.
Health technology plays a key role in supporting the delivery of healthcare, and it is a significant contributor to the UK’s economic growth. In the UK, HealthTech is the largest employer in the broader Life Sciences sector, employing 154,000 people in 4,465 companies, with a combined turnover of £34.3 bn.
ABHI’s 400 members account for approximately 80% of the HealthTech sector. They are multinationals and SMEs supplying products from syringes and wound dressings to surgical robots, diagnostics, and digitally enhanced technologies. ABHI also represents the HealthTech industry to stakeholders such as the government, NHS and regulators.
ATC CEO Raisa McNab is excited about the opportunities of the new partnership: “The HealthTech industry is a global one where strict regulatory compliance sits side-by-side with the need for cultural and linguistic adaptation for different markets. The ABHI supports its members to expand to new international markets, and by connecting ATC members with ABHI members, we can help lower the barriers for exporting success.”
Jonathan Evans, ABHI’s Director of Communications, is looking forward to working with the ATC: “Regulatory compliance and equal access to health information are at the top of our members’ agenda when it comes to international trade, alongside building up networks and trust with stakeholders through better understanding of business cultures across a diverse range of global markets. Working with the ATC enables us to support our members to expand their international footprint, and to find the right specialist language service company partners to work with.”
Together with the ABHI, the ATC’s Commercial Collaborations Lead Sarah Bawa Mason and Council Member Cathy Branson from Dialogue Language Services will co-create a series of checklists on business cultures and language services for the ABHI’s members’ key export markets.
