ATC welcomes four new Council Members

The ATC is governed by a Council of Members elected from Accredited Member Companies. The Council is responsible for setting the ATC’s strategy and direction, and lending their industry experience and expertise into driving the association’s initiatives and activities forward.

We are delighted to welcome four new members to the Council!

Gabriela Lemoine, Accentus Language Services

Originally from Córdoba, Argentina, Gabriela Lemoine is the founder and CEO of  Accentus Language Services.  Gabriela is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Linguists in English and Spanish and she holds an MBA. She served as the first president of the Argentine Association of Language Services (AASL), as Secretary at the Association of Language Companies (ALC) in the USA, and is an advisory board member at the American Chamber of Commerce in Argentina.

With a 25-year background in languages, software engineering, innovation and entrepreneurship, she is a popular international presenter on business and technical topics appealing to both linguists and company owners. She also volunteers at several entrepreneurship and empowerment charities. Outside of work, she is a dedicated mother who occasionally manages to find time to test her resilience at golf.

James Brown, Comtec Translations

James Brown is Head of Commercial for , Comtec Translations, focussing on implementing Comtec’s business development strategy and participating as a member of the Senior Leadership team, advising on team culture, service development, diversity and inclusion, quality assurance and recruitment.

James is a member of the Agency Hackers community, where he is responsible for chairing their D&I Leadership Council. He is also a member of the Content Marketing Association (CMA), acting as a judge for their annual industry awards and participating a member of their D&I Leadership Council.

James holds a degree in French and German Studies at the University of Warwick. His interests outside work include history, swimming, cinema, creative writing and rugby.

Steve Higgins, Mondia Technologies (Travod International and Wordminds Translations)

Steve Higgins is the CEO of Mondia Technologies (Travod International and Wordminds Translations). He started his career in the industry as a salesperson for Applied Language Solutions before its acquisition by Capita. He went on to become the UK and US sales manager at Capita T&I before helping Jonckers to establish a UK customer base. Between 2016-2020 Steve helped to take a midsized provider of technology and language services into the global market to become one of the top 10 in Western Europe, and top 50 worldwide in terms of revenue share (CSA Research).

Steve joined Mondia Technologies Ltd (Travod International & Wordminds Translations) in Jan 2021 as CCO and became CEO later that year. Steve has been working hard to transform the business, making Wordminds a niche provider of multimedia and eLearning solutions and changing the direction of Travod International to focus on ecommerce localisation in the UK, Germany and North American markets.

Steve is a certified NLP practitioner and commercially minded leadership figure with a passion for growth and success. He enjoys learning about new technologies, innovations, and automation within our great industry.

Helen Provart, Peak Translations

Helen Provart joins the ATC’s Council as a Co-opted Council Member, with a focus on supporting small businesses.

With a background in international business, Helen has progressed from Project Manager to Managing Director/Owner of Peak Translations, building on almost 20 years’ experience in the language industry. Her career began in the manufacturing and textile industries where she put her first degree in international business to good use and honed her commercial skills and knowledge. She then turned her attention to the area she was most passionate about, the language industry, and after completing a Master’s degree in Translation and Interpreting, began her career with Peak Translations, which she has now built up to become a multi award-winning company.

As an expert in her industry, she now works with clients from a variety of different sectors, from technical engineering companies through to creative media companies, to assist them to communicate effectively in foreign languages and to understand the benefit they can get from getting language right. Helen’s mission is to build awareness around why language and culture are so important and to help companies gain maximum return on their investment in all areas of their exporting activities.
