CCL’s Greetings
Welcome to our Autumn ATC Commercial & Trade Collaborations Round-Up!
Our summer break is over and we’re winding up our wheels for a busy Autumn of meetings and collaborations. Have a look at the full details here below, and email me at ccl@atc.org.uk to get involved!
Sarah Bawa Mason, ATC Commercial & Collaborations Lead
ATC CEO and CCL attend the Trade Association Forum conference London
In early September, ATC CEO Raisa McNab and Commercial & Collaborations Lead Sarah Bawa Mason attended the Trade Association Forum’s Best Practice Exchange, the UK’s leading trade association conference with 300 trade association executives, offering great opportunities for us to identify potential Trade and Commercial Collaboration partners for future endeavours. We also got to share in the best practice of other associations, hear expert speakers and position the ATC as the most authoritative voice on language services in the UK landscape.
UK Export Academy autumn session on Language for Business
ATC CEO Raisa McNab and Commercial & Collaborations Lead Sarah Bawa Mason kicked off the UK Export Academy season with an updated session of the immensely successful “Say it just right: the importance of translation!” developed for exporters by the ATC. Data from previous sessions show we have reached 584 viewers including 215 directors, owners and CEOs along with more than 100 senior people in sales, marketing and export roles. Activity on our Member Directory shows significant peaks around the time of each of these webinars, so we believe our message is getting through!
New ATC Branded Business Culture Resources for NAJ and GA
With the help of Mohamed-Ali Ibrahim of ATC Certification and ATC Member Roberto Bertuol, new language versions of our resources on Marketing, Negotiating and Building Relationships have been developed for the Middle Eastern and Italian markets and already delivered to our partner trade associations the National Association of Jewellers and the Giftware Association.
These position ATC members as authoritative partners on negotiating business culture in different markets around the world, and we are very grateful to all those member companies who have helped so far.
Special thanks to Cathy Branson, Senior Consultant at The Translation People for the original versions for Germany and the UAE.
UK Export Academy – new opportunities for ATC members
On a similar note – we have had a request from the UK Export Academy for a set of business culture resources. They would be particularly interested in developing resources relating to West Africa, Latin America, The Netherlands, France and Japan – so if your company has experience in those markets, get in touch with our Commercial and Collaborations Lead to make the most of this opportunity through ccl@atc.org.uk.
Position your company as a leader in your clients’ sector
The ATC will be working on new partnerships and collaborations with Trade Associations in a range of sectors this autumn, providing best practice guidance relating to language services for export and marketing. Working with us on collaboration projects can position your company as a preferred supplier for client-side organisations and potentially bring in new leads.
If you are already member of a client-side trade association in a specific sector, we could work alongside you to develop the opening. Get in touch with me directly at ccl@atc.org.uk to discuss the possibilities!
