Short description of degree studies programmes:

The MA Translation and Intercultural Studies provides native or proficient users of both English and an additional language with a critical grounding in Translation and Intercultural Studies. This interdisciplinary field explores how humans communicate across linguistic, cultural and societal difference. Crossing literary, media, technology and accessibility studies, among others, the programme allows students to develop deep disciplinary knowledge and skills alongside an ability to recognise the value of interdisciplinary approaches, and to use them to design their own innovative research projects. The programme is open to speakers of all verbal languages. It is validated by the Chartered Institute of Linguists. The MSc Interpreting is focused on Mandarin and English. It builds a highly versatile portfolio of skills that provide an entryway into the world of professional interpreting and related fields such as international business.
