The importance of translated health information

The Patient Information Forum (PIF) supports 300 healthcare organisations to produce high quality, inclusive health information.

In the UK’s multicultural, multilingual society, translation is an integral part of making health information accessible to all.

In consultation with the ATC, PIF has published two fantastic resources:

  • Translated health information – a quick guide provides practical support for translating health information, including tips on overcoming key challenges and links to useful resources.
  • Translated Health Information Checklist is a quick starting point on what to consider when starting health information translation. It outlines the strengths and weaknesses of the different options available and signposts useful guidance from the ATC.

ATC Members join PIF for free

ATC member companies can join PIF’s network free-of-charge. If you work with healthcare organisations, this is an amazing benefit to keep you up to date with the latest developments in health information. You will join a membership network of over 1,000 people, all involved in producing and providing health information, and be able to access PIF’s member benefits.

To join PIF as an ATC Member Benefit, write to ATC Secretary directly at secretary@atc.org.uk.
