voxANN is a Manchester-based technology business creating cloud-based production software for multilingual dialogue audio. Founded by a team who spent years producing multilingual audio content, voxANN aims to break down barriers to localised media production, making workflows faster, more efficient and less repetitive.
voxANN’s product, Align, runs automated quality assurance (QA) on multilingual audio for voice recording and transcription workflows. Align checks and matches recorded dialogue against the target script — projects can be run in one or multiple languages — flagging missing content, errors and amended phrases. For voice recordings, alternative takes are highlighted for quick auditioning, and a first-pass edit strips out false starts, fluffed lines and non-script audio. For transcriptions, differences between the transcript and the original audio are detected and highlighted immediately.
With Align, manual QA time can be cut by up to 50%.
Align is built with accessibility in mind. It requires no advanced audio skills and no fluency in the target language, so project managers, operations teams, linguists and content producers can verify multilingual deliverables themselves, rather than waiting on third-party review. Exports are designed for handover: segmented audio ready for post-production, SRT files for video work, marker files for easier audio editing, and metadata reports to share with teams.
Align was built from the founding team’s experience producing multilingual audio content for the aviation industry in their own production company. After working through the frustrations and repetition of the process first-hand, they developed Align to reduce the manual burden, lower the error rate, increase production speed and give teams more capacity.
