Judges’ notes: “In its thirtieth year, Atlas Translations achieved an impressive 48% growth, adding new services such as remote interpreting and Covid Passport translation to their portfolio. The company is very strongly involved in pro-bono activity, and clearly care about a good work-life balance for their employees.”

New Member of the Year
Judges’ notes: “A fantastic 2021 for Essence Translations with 30% growth. Over the pandemic, a new life sciences unit has brought new business, backed by the implementation of a rigorous quality assurance process. Essence Translations has also raised their profile in the industry through active participation in industry events and volunteering for Translated in Argentina.”

Project Manager of the Year
Misha Hruby, Locaria
Judges’ notes: “Misha works across different project types from translation to copywriting and pay-per-click to social media localisation. She has mentored junior team members, trained new joiners and run demos for clients and linguists, and become more involved in challenging, high-volume clients in the last year. Misha is a great asset supporting the needs of Locaria’s own team as well as her clients’.”

Project Management Team of the Year
Judges’ notes: “It has been a phenomenal year for Comtec’s PM team, with five new PMs joining the growing team, and an overall 100% satisfaction at the annual client survey. A highlight of the year was the production of 600 signed videos for deaf children during lockdown in six weeks.”

Innovator of the Year
Alexis Lopez-Gonzalez, Empower Translate
Judges’ notes: “Alexis deserves full marks for driving Empower Translate forward across technical, operational and innovative levels. The initiatives and results Alexis has achieved are what propels this industry forward: automate what can be automated, focus on servicing the customer, and free up time and resources that can be used elsewhere.”
