Here they are, the finalists for this year’s Language Industry Awards, which take place on…
A leading language professional from London has been elected as a Council member for the Association of Translation Companies (ATC).
Mireia San Jose, Account Director at Asian Absolute in Liverpool Street, was formally elected by the language sector’s leading professional body at its June Council meeting.
With more than 15 years of professional experience, Mireia will help the Council to drive forward the development of the ATC and contribute to the future prosperity of the UK’s £1 billion language industry.
Mireia, who holds a Masters degree in European Union and European Communities, and post-graduate qualifications in Audio-visual Translation as well as Translation and New Technologies, sits at the heart of Asian Absolute’s client servicing team.
She is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients, and usually gets involved in developing solutions for large, complex or unusual projects. In parallel she works in close collaboration with the company’s Project Managers, and contributes to building the overall strength and performance of the team.
Commenting on her election, Mireia explains: “I am delighted to have been elected as a Council member and am looking forward to working alongside others to contribute to the future development of the ATC.
“Since assuming a client facing role at Asian Absolute I have become much more aware of the important work which the ATC undertakes and I feel very proud to have the opportunity to work with other Council members to influence positive changes within the language sector and help to develop and grow the industry.”
ATC chair Roy Allkin concludes: “On behalf of all of the ATC members, I would like to congratulate Mireia on being elected as a Council member – we look forward to her support in driving the ATC forward during this challenging and exciting time for our industry.”
