About the event
The GDPR has been in force since May 2018, but many professionals in the translating and interpreting professions still feel confused about how to implement data protection requirements in their businesses.
To meet the need for detailed instructions, a consortium of partners headed by FIT Europe has initiated a project to prepare a set of guidelines tailored to the needs of our sector.
This Translating Europe Workshop “Towards Common European GDPR guidelines for the translation and interpreting profession” is a first step in this direction. We’ve brought together a team of experts with diverse backgrounds to discuss the major challenges that GDPR poses for our sector and take a position on problematic issues.
At the online conference on 4 March 2022, we will present the conclusions of these discussions. During the presentations and panel discussions we will focus on the pitfalls and problems for the sector, highlight solutions and provide answers to frequently asked questions.
